Young Moving & Storage, Inc. (YMS) was founded in 1947 in Lynchburg, Virginia by
Frank A. Young Jr. Mr. Young began moving families in the Lynchburg, VA area. Because
of his excellent reputation and steadfast commitment to customer service, Young
Moving & Storage grew to provide relocation services within Virginia.
YMS was a regional company until the 1960’s when the elder son, David C. Young took
over the reigns of the company. Under David’s leadership, the company selected Allied
Van Lines as its strategic partner and relocated its corporate headquarters to Richmond,
Virginia. Living by the philosophy "Get it right the first time," Young Moving &
Storage expanded their customer base nationally.
In January of 2004 Frank A. Young III was promoted from Executive Vice President
to President and COO of Young Moving & Storage. Frank has over 36 years of experience
in the areas of finance and operations with Young Moving & Storage. Under his leadership
this year, Young Moving & Storage has become a Special Products' Distribution Center
for Virginia and West Virginia. Young Moving & Storage elected to change its van
line affiliation from Allied to United Van Lines in May 2008. United’s financial
strength, ownership structure and commitment to providing high quality service to
its customers were paramount reasons for the Young Moving & Storage choosing United
Van Lines.

Kevin, Steve and Amos were very respectful. They were all professional and took
great pride in their work. We appreciated their skills and hard work and were equally
impressed with how nice and pleasant they were under difficult conditions: HOT,
stairs, heavy objects, etc. They never complained! They made what could be a very
